Rebels & Renegades
When photographer Neil Stewart — known for his raw, rock-and-roll reportage and striking editorial work for titles including Dazed & Confused, i-D, The Face and The Sunday Times — asked Neon Brand Consultancy to help promote a new body of work, we knew the solution needed to be as rebellious and memorable as Neil himself.
Rejecting the conventional route of books and prints, we took inspiration from an evening beer and created “Rebels & Renegades” — a limited-edition six-pack of bespoke craft beers, each can featuring one of Neil’s powerful black-and-white portraits. Partnering with a local Arundel brewery and digital can-label producer, we produced a set that celebrated both Neil’s photography and the detail of new print technology.
A hand-drawn, free-spirited logotype and the tongue-in-cheek tagline “Search, stop, drink it in, move on – never stand still” captured Neil’s restless creativity.
The result? A self-promotion piece that art directors, clients and fellow creatives couldn’t resist cracking open — quite literally.
